In hiring candidates there are a number of factors that are taken into consideration:

First and foremost, we assess the probability of being able to secure a work permit for you. In order to qualify for this permit, candidates must have a minimum of a 4 year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University, there must be evidence and proof of University level courses in Education (minimum of 12 semester hours, yet preferably a degree in Education), teacher certification/qualification from the country where your passport is issued, and finally, at least three years recent experience teaching at the level and in the subject areas advertised in the vacancy. If you do not meet these minimum qualifications, please do not apply as we will not be able to secure a work permit for you. At this early stage, it is better to be honest regarding the restrictions placed on us rather than spending a lot of time going through the interview process, only to find out that it would be impossible to obtain a work permit.

Secondly, and equally important, is your teaching experience and the recommendations received about your classroom practices.

Thirdly, candidates must be in excellent health and are required to complete a very thorough medical examination, which all candidates must pass before a final offer is confirmed (PTFI company policy). This also applies to all members of the family who will accompany you to jobsite.

Finally, we look at your marital and family status, as there are Indonesian Government regulations and housing restrictions. Teaching couples must have a valid marriage certificate and/ or license in order to be considered for employment. Regarding housing, all teachers live in either single dwelling apartments or a family apartment but because the availability of housing is so tight, preference for vacancies at MZIS will be given to teaching couples. There are no employment opportunities for non-teaching spouses and teachers with dependent spouses should not apply to MZIS.
